Quail are great for meat and eggs, and are highly sustainable. When given the right conditions, quail will lay almost every day. Quail start laying at just 6 weeks old.
We began incubating quail on 18 January for the 2026 season, and will incubate every week until October. If you order now, we estimate you will get quail in late June. We sell about 450 quail per year. Live quail are in high demand, so we encourage you to fill out the order form (below) as soon as possible to avoid delays. We sell in the order that forms are received.
Live quail are at least 3 weeks old and off heat. Female quail are $6 each; males are $4 each. Quail are Coturnix (domestic) and are a mix of Pharaoh, Egyptian and Italian. We are pleased with how large they grow and the size of their eggs. The form also includes hatching eggs if you have an incubator. Quail hatching eggs ( I have a waitlist for these too) are available year round ($.50 per egg).
Please prepare for raising quail before ordering. This includes housing, feed, equipment, and learning about how to successfully raise quail. We offer a quail class, which can be found on our CLASSES tab.
When picking up quail, you must bring a container to transport quail home, such as a small animal carrier (with mesh less than 1″), or a storage tub with wire cover. Cardboard boxes are NOT ALLOWED for transport (quail will suffocate). We sell healthy 3-week-old quail; Happy Wife Acres is not responsible for quail deaths once they leave the farm.
We will email you when your quail are ready for pickup. I also will call/text if you do not reply to email scheduler. Please respond promptly or we will have to cancel your order and move to the next person in line. Communication is key!
