I recently attended a cheese making class with Happy Wife Acres and had a great experience. I learned how to make mozzarella and ricotta, and the instruction made the process feel simple and approachable.

I just returned home after taking the Happy Wife Acres' Chicken Health Care for Homesteaders class and I highly recommend it to all new chicken keepers like me. I feel a lot more confident in my ability to recognize and hopefully successfully deal with the most common chicken health issues I'm likely to encounter on this adventure. I especially appreciate how candid they were in critiquing a lot of the well meaning home remedy advice you frequently see suggested on the most popular chicken message boards, which ones might help, and which pieces of advice can't possibly help and will only be wasting precious time while a poor chicken is dying. I think this class has the potential to save a lot of chickens from unnecessary suffering because I definitely would have tried some of those remedies myself before the more "invasive" (but I now know are necessary) emergency measures.
I'll of course keep on hoping that I'm going to be the luckiest chicken keeper in the world that will never have to deal with a lot of the illnesses and injuries we discussed today, but if I start seeing signs, I know what to look for more closely, and how to humanely support them as best as I can.
They are absolutely amazing!! I picked up two bunnies this morning, they were so nice and gave really good information about everything. They even let me feed their roosters! Their property is absolutely beautiful and I can tell they love what they do! I will definitely be coming back in the future!
The Cheese Making class was such a nice learning experience. I'm excited to go try it on my own! Definitely checking out some other classes!

John and Andrea have been a huge help to the Glen Helen Raptor Center for a few years now and recently came out to teach a class on quail care for our staff and interns after our quail suffered a major crash. They also supplied us with fresh quail eggs to restart our colony and have continued to support us with information and resources. They are a wonderful resource for anyone looking to be a little more sustainable in their own life or just fill their freezer with some good healthy food. I highly recommend their products and their classes!
I am completely thrilled with the Quail class I took at HWA. The information and experience was very valuable, and is going to help me as I start my covey. If you or someone you know is looking to start raising quail for egg/meat, I definitely recommend this class. By the time I left, I felt like John and Andrea were friends.
If you have even the slightest interest in taking a class, do it! You won’t regret it!
I think what Happy Wife Acres is doing is terrific and more people should live this way. In one video, you mentioned that it’s all about the balance. I completely agree and this world would be such a better place if everyone lived with a “balance” of sorts.
We went today for 3 rabbits, they not only answered all of our questions about them but also very helpful about chickens we got and they were very happy to give us information we needed. Let us know if we further assist to message them! Can’t wait to sign up for chicken processing classes!!!
I posted on Facebook about a problem I was having with one of my hens. John and Andrea posted their number to reach out to help. They were both so kind and knowledgeable and helped me try to diagnosis what was going on with with my chicken. They gave me some suggestions on how to help her. I truly appreciated their kindness and time.
