Have you considered keeping bees? Bees are complex and intimidating. This class will provide you with the basics of beekeeping, and make the complex understandable so you can decide if raising bees is right for you.
This 3-hour class will be held at Happy Wife Acres near Fairborn, Ohio, and will cover:
- Discussion of the lifecycle of bees, their behavior, how to handle bees, catching swarms, harvesting honey, pests and diseases, annual schedule of tasks, and raising bees for money
- Tour of Happy Wife Acres bee hives
- Opportunity to taste honey from the hive
