We offer Guinea, Call Duck, and Chicken hatching eggs and incubator rental. Guineas and Call Ducks are both seasonal layers. Guineas lay from May through October; Call Ducks lay from March through August. Chicken laying significantly slows down in the fall and winter. All hatching eggs are chosen for their size, shape, and cleanliness.
WE DO NOT SHIP, so eggs and/or incubators must be picked up from Happy Wife Acres in Fairborn, Ohio. Incubators must be cleaned and returned within 3 days of hatching.
Please understand that not all eggs will hatch. Our data indicates that our hatching eggs are at least 70% fertilized, and a good incubation is about 80% of fertilized eggs. So plan accordingly for the final number of live chicks/keets/ducklings you want. If you incubate yourself and experience a low hatch rate, but most of the eggs were developing, it indicates an issue with your incubator, such as inconsistent heat or humidity. Happy Wife Acres is not responsible for how you manage your incubator.
The incubator we rent holds 10 chicken eggs. We have had good results with this incubator. If you want to rent an entire hatch kit that includes a brooder, heat lamp, feeder/waterer, feed, and bedding, you can check out our Rent-a-Chick Hatch kits HERE. However, the rental dates for that program are fixed.

Once we confirm that we can fulfill your order, we will notify you when pickup is available.

About Our Guineas, Call Ducks, and Chickens

Our Guineas are a mixed flock of Lavender, White, Pied and Pearl. They are excellent bug eaters and will give you hours of comic relief. Because of their bug eating, they have very tasty eggs. The eggs are rich with an intense orange yolk. They like to roam, so please don’t keep them penned up in a coop all day. Guineas are loud, so if you can’t have roosters where you live, you can’t have guineas. They are great protectors and have saved our flock from more hawk attacks than any of our roosters. They can fly distances up to 500 feet and are very fast runners.
Our Call Ducks are a mixed flock of Gray, Blue Fawn, and some Mallard. They are about a quarter the size of a domestic duck. Call Ducks are super cute, like ducklings that don’t grow up. Call Ducks are friendly, personable, and quite vocal. The eggs are blue and the size of a small chicken egg. They are happy in baby pools, so you don’t have to have a pond on your property. Because of the Mallard genetics, some of the offspring have the ability to fly.

Our chickens are a mixed flock of over 30 common heritage breeds. We do not control breeding, so the resulting hatches will be barnyard mixes. Resulting egg colors may be white, brown, green, blue, and pink. Expect approximately 50% of chicks to be male.
